Mark Mulcahy tribute

September will see the release in the UK and US of Ciao My Shining My Star, an album in honour of American singer-songwriter Mark Mulcahy.

Back in 1987 Thom and I became big fans of his band The Miracle Legion. And back in the late 90s, when Unbelievable Truth were touring and Mark was starting out on a solo career, he played support on a couple of UT's UK tours and we became friends.

Mark suffered the tragic loss of his wife last year. Ciao has been put together as a tribute to her, a celebration of Mark's wonderful songwriting, and hopefully a way to help him raise his young children while still finding some time to keep making music.

I can't take any credit for getting this off the ground, but I pop up in a couple of places on the album: an (old but reworked) live recording of Unbelievable Truth's cover of Ciao, and singing the harmony on Thom's cover of Miracle Legion's "All For The Best".
